Cancer becomes top killer in county

After a seemingly never-ending grip as the No. 1 killer in San Diego County, heart disease has given over the top spot to cancer, public health officials said yesterday. The switch follows major advances in preventing and treating heart attacks, congestive heart failure and other cardiovascular ailments during recent years. Ref. Source 2
