Trini sailor retires after pirate attack
Trinidad-born sailor Jamille Sabga hid with 19 other crewmates in his container ship's cramped compartment as armed Somali pirates searched the decks above for them. His American crewmates worried that Sabga-a heart surgery survivor-would be overcome by the 120-degree heat or the lack of food and water as their ship, the Maersk Alabama, drifted off the east coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean.
