3 more H1N1 deaths last week in Utah
That brings the number of deaths in the state to 12 since Sept. 1, including one death not reported more than one week ago. The deaths were of a Salt Lake County woman over age 65; a female age 5 to 24 in southwestern Utah; and a 24- to 49-year-old man in the Weber-Morgan Health District. The previously unreported death from several weeks ago was a Utah County female age 5 to 24. The state health department doesn't release any more identifying information. Ref. Source 9
What I thought was interesting was when President Obama was asked if his daughters had been given the vaccine and his reply was no, because it was children who had neurological problems were to go first and they would wait until all been given that chance.
My nephew is a doctor and was talking to him about the swine/bird/human H1N1 flu, and how it seems to affect people with strong immune systems the worst. In China young men and women in their early 20's were dying of a reaction called a Cytokine Storm. Your immune system starts producing antibodies and gets into a loop of producing until it causes inflamation in that area and if in the lungs causes liquids to form literally drowning the person.
A couple of doctors are suggesting taking as a preventative, 1000 units Vitamin D3, Vit. C with Zinc for absorbtion 1000 miligrams, daily. So this is what my wife and I are doing and she teaches first grade. 9 children from her class are ill. She's OK though.
Utah woman had mutated version of swine flu virus
A 28-year-old woman is believed to be the first Utahn known to carry a mutated version of the H1N1 virus. While health officials have not yet identified the woman, or the type of mutation she was carrying, they say the mutated virus more easily attacks the lungs, which often leads to death. Ref. Source 7
