I was watching this case on TLC about Nancy Seaman who killed her husband with a hatchet and knife. She claims she was a battered wife. What do you think about the case?

Do I believe she was a battered wife? Sure, I do.
Do I believe she was defending herself when she killed him? Not for a second. I think this murder was premeditated and she was so angry and frustrated (not terrified as she described) that she wanted to ensure he dies.

Comments: Battered, probably. Terrified for her life? Absolutely not. It was overkill, which always implies rage, not fear. To me it was premeditated. Why go out that particular time and buy a hatchet, then return it? Her testimony to me seemed like she was acting, I saw no tears. She got lucky with the judge siding with her. What was that all about?

I think judges are just humans and sometimes they let their emotions run instead of focusing on the evidence. I believe this was the case.
