Beard The Corners
Israelite men were not to imitate the extreme customs of the pagan nations around them. Some of these customs may have had a religious significance.
Christian women are also counseled to avoid extremes in hair styling, and jewelry.

Now that's a first. A Jehovah Witness answering an Old Testament question on a Mormon forum using a New testament scripture from a modern english translation it looks like. We only use KJV. That scripture is:

I dn't see how that addresses the Levitical passage about MEN's beards.

It's interesting because in other parts of Leviticus talks about shaving hair completely (in some cases).

Comments: Growing and maintaining a beard was the sign of piety and dedication to God for the ancients.
Cutting the corners of ones beard was to cut corners on our dedication and devotion to God.
This was a custom applied to those who held the Priesthood.
