Arlen Specter has lost his position, could this be revenge of the voters for his switch over to the Democratic side?

Since this was a Democratic primary, I would say that it wasnt payback for him coming over to the Democrats. It was probably more a statement of how much his new party believed that he was truly in line with their platform and not just seeking re-election under any roof. Look for Specter to possibly do what Liebermann did to get elected again, which was to run as a independent.

Anytime you cross the line, especilly after so many years with the Republicans, you weaken your honor. I don't care how much of a better move it may seem to be, in the eyes of everyone you are just not as deserving of the respect you once had when you stood your ground. Picture it this way... During World War II a British soldier defects to the Nazis. The British want to kill him. The Nazis wonders if he is just a spy and he is never truly accepted.

Arlen Specter novel reveals he is a dirty, dirty old man

Arlen Specter is out making the rounds trying to shop his new book Life Among The Cannibals which seems to be mostly about naked senators. His descriptions of Ted Kennedy naked and his evaluation of Senator John Thune's "lanky" n-de body probably aren't helping sales all that much. The repeated imagery of Specter himself being naked certainly aren't helping either. Ref. Source 1

Longtime GOP Sen. Arlen Specter dies at 82 - Former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, the Republican-turned-Democrat who played a key role in many Supreme Court nominations, has died.
