Plenty of speculation going around right now. I think Vincenzo has it right when he said she'd be better in a cabinet post. However, who knows what kind of power Hill and Bill are going for? They are so incredibly avaricious, it's scary to think what had to be parlayed.
Another thought: What did Hillary promise to Obama? No one will ever truly know, since the two met alone.

Now we *know* there are big-time promises being made behind closed doors. It was hinted at it before... but not like this. $10 million? Doesn't Obama know that Hillary is ready to reinstate her campaign on a moment's notice? Top level shenanigans, in my opinion. Usually, when a campaign runs in the red, it's never paid back - it's just counted as a loss by all involved, including those who are still owed money. I think this is unprecedented.

Oh, this will probably be the biggest payment by far, but most potential candidates do not loan that much money to their bids. If they loan...the loan a LOT more. Most of the biggest loaners were this years runners-ups from both parties and failed attempts at the presidency since Perrots effort. You might think that the 10 million should cover all the loans that Hillary gave to her campaign...but it doesnt:

Hillary loaned her campaign over 11 million, so it does look like she is going to have to take the hit on at least a little of that loan...a very little bit of it. Even that is not true as she still was collecting contributions and I am sure that will end up having her 11 million just actually be a loan. And while they can just not pay some of the staff, the big ticket items...commercial air time...have to be paid back.
Romney loaned a total of about 35 million to his campaign. The campaign had plenty of money on hand at the end and Romney is at last note only $17 million in the hole. However, most of the candidates that do self financing and lose simply take the loan as a loss and basically look at no taxes or even better a refund.

One thing I will say about Hillary's donation to her campaign is that she and Bill were not as well off as most all the ones that have done it in the story above. So getting her loan repaid was probably pretty important to her and as far as a loan goes...it was pretty small when you look at how much Romney chipped into his campaign.
I am not really shocked by this at all and $10 million was a small price for the DNC to pay to not have her try to steal the show at their convention. A small price to pay for the appearance of unity...
