Sure, she could go independent, but if she were to go that pretty much means she needs to fund even more of her campaign. Also, if she loses and goes back to the senate, she loses everything! No choice committee chair or committees for that matter... However, the Independent Party already has their nominee, so she would have to go in under a write-in. Honestly, her power that she has at the moment would best be used to get a major cabinet or senate committee slot and her personal loans to her campaign paid.

Well, well, we have drama! First there is this report:
QUOTE (USAToday) |
WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said, effectively ending her bid to be the nation's first female president. |

Nah, I think Hillary's campaign manager is just trying to "stretch" time as much as possible. The end is clearly close for Mrs. Clinton.

Do you think she's having a drink or two to ponder her next move? Those film clips of her drinking (a month or so back) tell the tale - she's no stranger to alcohol.
Who do you want answering the phone when those important calls come in at 3 a.m.? Isn't that what she asked during her campaign? Someone with experience, right?
It will be very interesting to me if she "accepts" the VP spot, after adamantly stating she would never be interested in it. Get real, Hillary.

I do not think she should take the spot as VP. She should be working on her status in the senate and firming up her support for a possible 2012 run. Or maybe she is hoping he does not make it through his first term and she gets presidential spot by default.
Well, it is pretty obvious that she has at least had the thought of assassination run through her mind, but after the bitter race between the 2 of them, the question more so is...why should he offer the position to her? A camera-hawking ex-president for a husband...who by the way, seems to love to talk to the press about what the president is doing and dont think it will stop just because the president is a democrat. Hillary isnt shy about voice her mind and do you really think she could stop that in the VP role? I really cant see it.
I think the country was quite ready for a female president...just not Hillary.
Her campaign has themselves to blame for this one. When Super Tuesday hit, we kept hearing that ... Oh, he is just really doing well in the caucuses. Then you hear that strongly organized campaigns tend to do well in caucuses. That should have had a big bell go off in camp Clinton. You heard about her needing to take Texas and she did...but what wasnt reported was that after the caucus votes were counted...the delegate distribution was even and it, like the electoral college, is what matters. Team Obama saw this and Team Clinton let it go...until it was too late. He just ran a better and smarter campaign...and isnt that what you would want in a candidate?
I have reservations about Obama and dont like my choice in McCain, but the democratic party got this one right.
