Illegal Immigration Into Trinidad / Tobago

Illegal entry-the other health hazard

Just reflect on it. Many human contagious diseases, whether they be caused by viruses, bacteria or blood or tissue parasites are only really easily spread under conditions of moderately or intimate close contact between humans. Poor living conditions and poor habits often exacerbate the problem and a single organism may cause a pandemic. Periodically we read of outbreaks of diseases such as chicken pox in schools or prisons. Seasonally we have outbreaks of dengue fever as regularly as we have wet and dry seasons. And while we are sure that the conventional measures such as screening the entry of persons into the country as was done in the SARS outbreak a few years ago will be applied, there is another potential hazard related to illegal entry of persons into the country.
