Shadowy figure on edge of crime dies
Wellington businessman Duncan Barry McFarlane had a taste for stylish clothes and top-of-the-line Mercedes, and once owned a Russian Mig jet fighter. But to some, he was the closest thing the capital had to an underworld kingpin.

Comments: Interesting how Duncan Barry McFarlanes death has had so much media coverage. Ask yourself, what did Duncan McFarlane contribute to the community, nothing! He caused significant grief for allot of innocent people including bully boy tactics, the only respect he got were from criminals and would be's. I read with interest of an article about a social event organised by criminal and lawyer Kevin Smith, photos of ex escort agency owners, Raeleen Brown amongst many other aliases, same women who hired yound women under the legal age to become hookers and the same woman who has been questioned about her suitability as a mother, her kids don't have a chance and nor do the low life that support Dunacn McFarlane, you really don't deserve to RIP.

Comments: You say anyone who supports Duncan McFarlane doesn't have a chance and is a 'low life'. Well your [..] writing about him when he is dead, doesn't that make you one of the low life's that obviously cared about his contribution or lack there of to this community? I don't know who you are in fact never heard of you in my life, you are a nobody who just wants to add in his two cents. You didn't know Duncan, if you did, you would know that he would help ANYONE, he gave everyone a chance, he would lend anyone money whether it was $5 or $500,000. I'm guessing he didn't actually like you very much did he, Louis? Maybe he 'bullied' you. [..] And as much grief as Duncan caused some people, he was my hero, he did so much good to so many people, put his children through the BEST education and would do ANYTHING for them. [..]
As for the media coverage, do you think he asked for that? The media would get a boner over anything with a bit of scandal, NEWS FLASH, everyones family has a bit of scandal in it. No one deserves to read a load of lies [..] like that [two] days after a loved ones death, HOW IS THAT FAIR? Well its not. So before you go ranting and raving, think for 2 seconds. Find some credible evidence before judging someone. Was he ever convicted of robbery? I think you'll find he wasn't.
