Buntys Smokey Years

Have you ever wondered how popular this Smokey and Bunty's bar really is? Well when they had that unfortunate bombing incident, this made international news. I remember reading about it all over the internet! My hubby has very found memories of this bar although he claims that the Pelican Inn (another bar in St Ann's now torn down and replaced by apartments) was better. My only memory of this bar was many years ago, (before I was married) I went to a rock concert with a few friends. We decided to walk home to a friend's house in St James. I told them that I was thirsty and needed to have a soft drink. My friend took me to Smoky and Bunty's. It was dark and I remember tip toeing into the bar and I remembered that the floor was wet and sticky. There was also a faint smell of urine. All I have to say was, the thirst was too much to bear and I quickly got my soft drink, while holding my breath and fled the bar, after I received my coca cola. Not a very good experience and I will never understand why people enjoy going there so much. I guess you make a lot of friends when drinking beer!
