Comments: I was present at all three trials and was able to watch most, but not all, of them. There's something that no one has mentioned, and was not mentioned in the Scene magazine story but which I believe is very telling: the bed that Jeff and Ramona used had an ornate headboard that Ramona liked very much. The police were not able to examine that headboard, however, because Jeff Krotine had burned in in the fireplace. When asked why he did that, Krotine's lame answer to the cops was that he knew how much Ramona liked the headboard and that it was too painful for him to have there as part of the bed ! That goes against common sense and life experience. If what he said was true, he could have given the headboard to his children or to Ramona's family. The truth in my opinion is that Krotine knew there were bloodstains on the headboard that would have incriminated him.
He is guilty and will have to live with that. His life is ruined.

Title: Jeff seems guilty...
Comments: I have seen the 48 Hours show a few times. I think he is guilty... Shown by his actions after 'Mona' went missing. He never did one thing to look for her, call her friends etc. He got away with murder! After 3 trials, they could not get any reasonable thinking people to see the truth. At times there is not enough evidence to PROVE guilt without a reasonable doubt in your mind. But if you were on the jury and used common sense, reasonable, logical thinking you could have achieved a guilty verdict. He said Mona never returned home after the party... [..] are her black heels then? They were not in the car. I would guess he realized he made a mistake when he put sneakers on her after he beat her and then killed her in the backseat of her car. He most likely burned the shoes in the fireplace along with the head board. Who in their right mind does not see that burning the headboard in INSANE. Give it away! He said he could never have sex in that bed again..but she had just died so why was he concerned about having sex there?(even though he was cheating on Mona with a girlfriend at the time) And why not replace the mattress that your wife SLEPT on? He burned the headboard because he had no way to clean it before the cops paid a visit. There are so many questions to this case. They will never find the killer, because they set the killer FREE!
This is the hardest case I've ever come across. If I was on the jury Id probably vote 'not guilty'. When I watch cases like these, the most important thing is what actually happened at the time of death and not what happened afterwards. There is no proof at all that she made it home, and if she made it home, there would have to be stronger evidence that she did actually make it home. You have to seriously take into consideration what his children say. There is no other hard evidence. Maybe he did it, but there is no evidence.
What I don't get is if she was dead already then why would shoes be put back on her feet? its obvious it couldn't look like anything less than murder with or without the shoes.

Title: Probably Guilty
Comments: I've watched this episode numerous times to try to find something conclusive and its very difficult. I think a lot of weight has to be given to his children's testimony. On the other hand, I'm always extremely suspicious of the suspect that doesn't take the stand, and just about all of his actions after the death suggest that he's covering up. I'm curious to know why Monas brother is so convinced of his guilt. If someone could find the black shoes it may help make a decision.
