First-quarter crime figures have shown an increase in murders and robberies this over as compared with the same period last year.

Murders have gone up by over a fifth, 21.69 per cent and 441 more people have been robbed this year, an increase of 44.95 per cent as compared with the first quarter of 2008. Ref. Source 7
