Water Bear - Tardigrades

Water Bear

Of all the creatures on the earth the Water Bear can survive them all. What is a Water Bear you may be wondering? The scientific name is "Tardigrades" and you can read more about them here: Source 8

QUOTE
Tardigrades have been known to withstand the following extremes while in this state:

    * Temperature - tardigrades can survive being heated for a few minutes to 151 °C (424 K), or being chilled for days at -200 °C (70 K), or for a few minutes at -272 °C. (~1 degree above absolute zero).[13][citation needed]
    * Pressure - they can withstand the extremely low pressure of a vacuum and also very high pressures, more than 1200 times atmospheric pressure. It has recently been demonstrated that tardigrades can survive the vacuum of open space and solar radiation combined for at least 10 days.[6] Recent research has notched up another feat of endurance: they can withstand 6,000 atmospheres, which is nearly six times the pressure of water in the deepest ocean trench. [14]
    * Dehydration - tardigrades have been shown to survive nearly one decade in a dry state.[15]
    * Radiation - Tardigrades can withstand median lethal doses of 5000 Gy (gamma-rays) and 6200 Gy (heavy ions) in hydrated animals [16]. (5 to 10 Gy could be fatal to a human). The only explanation thus far for this ability is that their lowered water state provides fewer reactants for the ionizing radiation.

Tardigrades Bear Water

The last survivors on Earth may well be the tardigrade. The world's most indestructible species, the tardigrade, an eight-legged micro-animal, also known as the water bear, will survive until the sun dies, according to a new study. Source 3w.

Water Bear - Tardigrades History & Civil Business Politics

So, when we destroy each other and damn near every other creature on Earth in about 25,000 nuclear explosions, these things will remain. In about a million years when their advanced descendants are living on the Earth, I wonder if they'll make the same mistakes we have.
