A Glock is reliable, but I would prefer the .45 ACP models of the Glock21 or the Glock30. A 9mm slug is not enough to actually drop a target with one shot. I have also noticed that the Glock has a tendency to kick up and over a little bit when shooting. This makes it a little harder to keep on target with multiple shots.
Actually, I love shooting a Baby Eagle (smaller version of the Desert Eagle) with .45 ACP ammunition. The gun targets easily and shoots great.
If you want to just scare the daylights out of an intruder, get a Desert Eagle and put a laser sight on it. Staring at the front end of one of those would scare anyone.
