In Brasil, the majority of people are Roman Catholic. Hypocritically, prostitution is legal in the country. Despite talks between the U.S and Brasilian government, prostitution is not being outlawed in Brasil despite the dramatic rise in HIV cases. The U.S government has given large amounts of funding to Brasil to fight AIDS. The U.S government asked that Brasil agree that the money not be used with projects directly relating to prostitution. The Brasilian government wouldn't agree on this, and the U.S denied Brasil the rest of the grant money.
The Brasilian health system is run by the government and is not in good shape.

Which is the right spelling "Brazil" or "Brasil"? In any case the country seems pretty wild, like a paty is constantly in motion. A society with so many ghettos and legal prostitution is a sad place to be no matter how much they try to glitter it up.

I agree with you. Prostitution is not good, especially with all the diseases going around. It's not safe. There are some very poor areas. I saw a video on youtube of a young child smoking meth in Brazil. Spanish speaking people spell it "Brasil", but in the U.S and probably Europe others spell it "Brazil". That is why I spelled it with the "s".

Actually its a common misconception that Brazil is "Spanish", they were in fact a Portuguese colony at one time and speak Portuguese there which I guess may sound like it's Spanish, but it isn't. No one can dispute the sexualized society of Brazil all you have to do is look at a clip of their carnival and you know why.

You're right, they do speak Portuguese. I meant to say in Latin America and the such Brazil is spelled "Brasil". I couldn't find the right way to phrase that. I have a friend who is from Brasil. His family is very religious though. They are Seven Day Adventists. They don't shower, go to stores, watch television, cook, or do anything that makes anyone have to work from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
