President Barack Obama's decisions to grow the military, broaden the U.S. mission in Afghanistan and focus on 21st century threats are making America "increasingly safer," the president's national security advisor said.

Since this guy is Obama's man, I guess he has to make statements like this. It is even remotely possible that he believes it. However, it is his opinion.
Personally, I do not feel anywhere near as safe under Obama as I did under GW Bush.
