I am sorry I have not been taking part in the Community. I was on a business trip to Hawaii. Which I was excited about. Before this trip, at a seminar a well travelled agent said to me that Kauai in The Hawaiian islands is prettier than the Caribbean. Being from the Caribbean I could not imagine this. Of course this was my motivation to go.
And what did you discover? Is there any comparison between the two? I've never seen either one, so it would interest me to hear your opinion.

A cruise is perhaps the best way to see Hawaii, allowing visitors to sample the state's highlights without having to hop on a plane to each island. With five ports in six days, the Pride of America, Pride of Aloha and Pride of Hawaii all embark on different days of the week from Honolulu, with stops in Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii.
The Big Island offers excellent excursions: On the first day we called in the port of Hilo on the island's east side. From there, we explored Volcanoes National Park, walking over steam vents, through a lava tube and viewing a crater up close. Later in the cruise, we called at Kona on the Big Island's western side, taking a zodiac ride to a state park for excellent snorkeling. Along the way, spinner dolphins put on a show for us.

Sewage spills, flooding and an earthquake with aftershocks have made for a challenging year for Hawaii and its tourism officials.

I have been to Hawaii twice but never made it out of the airport. I would like to go there again to see it once again but spend a few days. The best place I was at was the marshall islands. The islands were beautiful. I really enjoyed my time there with the lagoon and the beach. I would like to see the caribbean too. I would like to make my own opinion of which is better.
