allow me to respond to the letter "Extra Lessons Like Child Abuse" (Express, May 7) where the writer implies that extra lessons are the product of teachers who fail to teach "diligently" during the normal school day. Ref. Source 4

Lessons Extra

For me, some parents are so obsessed with their kids passing with great grades the SEA examinations that they are willing to do whatever it takes for their child to excel even if that means the kid must take extra lessons and no time whatsoever for playing. Just seeing the faces of excitement, some of them of sadness, even tears when they did not place into a good school is heartbreaking. Any responsible parent would allow a child to study and try his/her best, and nothing more.
