Neighbors, city agree to preserve pergola site
The controversy over San Diego's plan to spend a half-million dollars rebuilding a 1920s-era pergola has ended, with neighbors and their councilman settling on a modest way to spruce up the site. The city would remove what's left of the redwood colonnade on the edge of Balboa Park and wrap a wrought-iron fence around the site. The cost: $12,000. Ref. Source 4
