Sorry Farseer but I LOVE American Cheese! Well...not so sure in tacos though. I don't like the soft shell, I like the crispy one so for now I dream with Taco Bell.

No, I love cheese -- except for "American Cheese," which isn't really cheese -- or even dairy -- at all. It's a fake conglomerate made from vegetable oil and chemicals, and has no business in a taco! Even if the taco is a fake hamburger. Give me cheddar any day, or jack, but not "American." Too gross on a TACO.

Okay, I have to apologize. I went to Rubio's last week to try the All-American Taco... But, apparently, this item was only for a limited time and I missed it! Sorry about that. But I did talk to the server there (after I ordered the BEST mahi-mahi tacos) who said he thought it was kind of gross -- basically just a hamburger on a tortilla. He said he didn't think it was right for a place famous for fish tacos to suddenly go into the burger business. That was funny, to have him echoing my opinion.

Anyway. Missed it. Sorry.

I missed it too as we do not have a Rubio's around here. I make my own tacos with real burger and a mix of cheeses. I do not use american cheese at all. My family loves my tacos.
