Deaf In Trinidad & Tobago

Deaf community being shut out

There was a woman in the Bible who asked Jesus for crumbs. The deaf community here is in a similar position to this woman. For years, deaf citizens have been asking for a window to the world of information enjoyed and accessed, without a second thought, by hearing people. Now that they have finally gotten a very tiny window in the form of signed news on a TV station at 7 p.m., that window to the world is about to be closed. Taken away. Shut down. Why should we do this to the disabled/deaf citizens in this country? Ref. Source 5

Tobago and Trinidad Deaf

I used to see captions for the Deaf sometime ago, but it does not seem to be consistent on T&T television media. Perhaps the reason is the cost involved in having someone there doing it constantly. Perhaps the government should help sponsor the effort.

Since when the government is interested in helping those who have special needs in Trinidad and Tobago? rolleyes.gif
