This is an interesting story. I don't think patients in psychiatric wards should be allowed to smoke. These people are in the wards for being unable to handle living with society. The patients are not mentally stable enough to make a big decision like whether to smoke or not. They aren't able to fully understand the effects from smoking. Psychiatric ward staff should be trying to teach the patients to live positive lifestyles, avoid addictions, and live healthily. Why would these people even feel the need to smoke? They are patients being treated for problems and cigarettes can have a negative effect on their treatment.
