30 States Have No Opt-Out Laws Stopping Abortion Funding Under Obamacare
Every Fourth of July, we commemorate the day that our country declared independence and began her quest to become a unique nation-one where personal freedoms are honored and government intrusion is limited. We have had victories in this pursuit, but we have also had setbacks, perhaps none as great recently as the 2010 enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
We are only beginning to see the impositions that this law will place on the rights and consciences of Americans; however, as we draw near to deadline for the implementation of the health insurance exchanges in every state, an update is warranted. Ref. Source 6
Senate Bill Would Fund Abortions for Pease Corps Volunteers at Taxpayer Expense
A top pro-abortion lawmaker attached language to a U.S. Senate bill that would force Americans to pay for abortions for volunteers in the Pease Corps at taxpayer expense.
The Peace Corps Equity Act of 2013, sponsored by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), was included in the Senate Foreign Operations Appropriations bill, which advanced out of committee on Thursday. The bill would allow the Peace Corps to provide its volunteers with health insurance coverage for abortion in cases of rape or incest, or when the life of the woman is in danger. Ref. Source 2
Letter: Will Obama Admin Break the Law to Fund Abortions for Congress?
Members of Congress are concerned the Obama administration ill break current federal law to pay for abortions for members of Congress and Congressional staff via Obamacare.
Some 86 members of Congress signed on to a letter to the director of the Office of Personnel Management expressing concerns that it will not comply with the Smith Amendment regarding Federal employee health plans that provide benefits or coverage for abortion. Under the amendment, which is existing law, federal funds may not be used to pay for abortions via federally-funded health insurance for congressional staff and Members. Ref. Source 4
Obamacare Day One: Many Americans Will Fund Abortions Without Their Consent
With the launch of Obamacare enrollment today, October 1 in a landmark date that will have many Americans railroaded into health insurance plans that directly pay for abortions with their insurance premiums - sometimes without their knowledge and consent.
Enrollment in the exchanges is to begin on October 1, 2013, and the exchanges are to offer health insurance coverage to an estimated 7 million individuals starting on January 1, 2014 (Increasing to about 24 million by 2022). Source 8
U.S. Taxpayer Dollars Going to Fund Population Control in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh parliament last month recommended imposing a population control program on tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. Ironically, the Rohingya refugees fled from an oppressive regime in Myanmar which included a two-child policy. No one wants them to have children!
Bangladesh has hosted refugees from Myanmar's ongoing ethnic cleansing of non-Burmese for 20 years, and is apparently growing weary of the task. Ref. Source 8
Congressman: Obama Admin Breaking the Law Funding Abortions Under Obamacare
Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) appeared on yesterday's edition of "Washington Watch with Tony Perkins" to respond to the on-demand abortions found in Obamacare exchange healthcare plans in spite of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding of abortion.
"The president made a promise that he would adhere to the Hyde principle, and that means that you do not fund even a plan that includes abortion," said the Representative. Ref. Source 6
Obamacare Will Pay for Your Abortion But Not Include Your Baby in Your Health Insurance
Obamacare coverage "officially" began Wednesday and a new problem has cropped up: Obamacare will help pay for your abortion but getting you newborn baby covered under an Obamacare exchange health care plan is virtually impossible.
The Obamacare website was supposed to contain a computerized method of updating a family's "change in circumstances," such as adding a new baby to a policy. However, the Obama administration postponed that function as it attempted to fix the many other problems with the Obamacare web site. Ref. Source 6
Obama Celebrates 41 Years of Abortion: Roe an "Opportunity to Fulfill Dreams"
President Barack Obama issued a statement today celebrating the 41-year-old Roe v. Wade decision that allowed for virtually unlimited abortions. In a written statement, the president said the Roe abortion anniversary is an "opportunity to fulfill dreams."
The decision, handed down on January 22, 1973, overturned pro-life laws offering protection for unborn children in most states across the country, and made abortions legal and virtually unlimited. Almost 57 million unborn children have been killed in abortions since. Ref. Source 2
