Is it a joke? Honestly, did they buy the cows not understanding that what goes in must come out? Did they not read the children's book "Everybody Poops"? What a ridiculous thing to post on craigslist.

This is funny,
I live in a small town and someone moved right next door to a dairy farm (I think they were from California). The next day they called the police to complain of the smell. The police pretty much told them that there was nothing they could do and they should not have moved to a farming town if they did not want to smell manure. I think they eventually tried to sue the dairy farmer, but I am not sure what came of it.

That is ridiculous. Who was originally there? I can understand chemical or artificial toxic pollution smells but manure is a NATURAL process and what can you expect more from a farming area?

It happens in our town a lot - we have lots of dairy farms and horse ranches. Some of the dairies sold out to developers a few years ago, so the homes are built literally on top of manure pits.

One of our neighbor church members recently said, "I didn't realize how close we were to the dairy." Their house was not 1/2 mile from the biggest one in the valley! Didn't they see that when they toured the house? Didn't they smell it then?!? And let's not get started on the fly problems.

One bonus? Great, green, lush landscaping
