The Department of Justice will seek a stay of a Texas judge's ruling that has forestalled President Barack Obama's executive order on immigration, a White House spokesman said.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the request will be filed by Monday.

With all the craziness going on with immigrants involved this is probably one of the last measures anyone wants to agree to so I'm not surprised by the tie vote.

Obama: Trump rhetoric on immigration, 'not representative of how the American people think'
President Obama said immigration has helped build the United States and that free trade is key to the U.S. Economy during a news conference dominated by questions about presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's proposals. The questions came after a summit of North American leaders in Ottawa, Canada. Trump has proposed building a wall between the United States and Mexico and for eliminating the North American Free Trade Agreement. Ref. USAToday.
If most of America wasn't thinking the way Trump is about immigration then he would not have gotten so much support so I don't know where Obama is getting that from.
