Congrats on achieving RPGer status. I notice you want to create both FE and Medieval characters. You can create one for now and then when you get 30 more Posts you can create the other, which one do you want to start with first?

You mean magicians don't have any offensive spells? I've played D&D before and I could do it there. I don't know why it would be any different here.
