House Passes Bill to Completely Repeal Obamacare, Not One Democrat Votes Yes
The House of Representative today voted for legislation to completely repeal Obamacare, which pro-life advocates oppose because it funds abortions and rations health care. The House voted 239-186 for the bill, with all but three Republicans voting to repeal Obamacare and not one single Democrat joining them. Ref. Source 3
Supreme Court's liberal justices hammer Obamacare challengers
The Supreme Court's four liberal justices hammered the lawyer challenging the health care law with a decidedly conservative line of attack during oral arguments Wednesday, suggesting that taking his position would damage the insurance market in 34 states so badly that it would be unconstitutional for them to do so. In a rare move, Chief Justice John Roberts gave the lawyer, Michael Carvin, an extra 10 minutes to joust with the liberal justices. The court's conservatives were mostly quiet. Ref. USAToday
It is a noble gesture to provide insurance to the people who have none, but now that the people have this insurance they can't afford to go to the doctor because of high deductibles and payments.
If they handled the waste fraud and abuse to Medicaid and Medicare systems we would have more money to provide for these people, but they didn't do that.
The main problem that I see at this point is the money we were to save under this program is not there. I work for a Fortune 500 company, the only thing I have seen is increases in premiums and deductibles. New programs put in place to charge unhealthy people more in premiums.
My biggest problem with the government being involved in health care was show me a program they got right. I see things getting worse not better.
Supreme Court Upholds Taxpayer Subsidies to Over 1,000 Obamacare Plans That Fund Abortions
In a major victory for the Obama administration, the Supreme court has issued its second major decision up-holding abortion-funding Obamacare. The Supreme Court has upheld a key provision of ObamaCare today in their decision in King v. Burwell, ruling that millions of Americans can continue to receive taxpayer subsidies to allow them to purchase health care plans under Obamacare. Ref. Source 6y
The GOP-controlled House of Representatives has approved a bill to repeal Obamacare that, after more than 60 votes in the past five years, will finally get to the President's desk.
The House vote was 240-181, largely along party lines. The Senate passed the legislation last month.
The bill is expected to arrive at the White House later this week. President Barack Obama has already vowed to veto any Republican bill that guts his signature health care law.
The measure also bars any federal money for Planned Parenthood. Conservatives in Congress vowed to defund the organization after a series of videos released by an anti-abortion group last year triggered a controversy about the sale of fetal tissue. Planned Parenthood maintains the footage was edited, and has denied any improper activity. Ref. CNN
