Kansas City has not officially named Matt Cassel its starting quarterback, but there can be no doubt now. After praising his leadership and work ethic through spring workouts, the Chiefs announced Tuesday they had signed the 27-year-old Cassel to a multiyear contract. Terms were not disclosed, but he will almost certainly be one of the highest-paid members of the team.

I think this is a good move for the chiefs. They need someone in there to build a team around. I think Cassel will give them that edge.

Hope this doesnt go like the Derrick Anderson thing for the Browns, because Thigpen didnt look to bad last season and had that offense moving. Cassel is going to see a lot more people in the backfield this year as well and it will be interesting to see how he handles it. However, the Chiefs management must be happy with what they see so far...

Yes the chiefs seem to be happy with what they see. While Thigpen moved the offense well he was not consistent in every game. It seemed to me that he had a good week or a bad week. Which side showed up to the game was any ones guess.
