Who Can Post HereOnly Upgraded Members can post here, but anyone can read.
UPDATE: As of 5 February, 2008 I have opeded up this Board for all Members!
What Kind of Jokes?
The key to posting here is to think - would I want a young innocent child to read these things? The fact is they do... children use the net and we need to keep it clean and wholesome for them. Thanks for understanding. Now go post with wisdom.
Seems like twice is not too much.
I would like to emphasize the FACT that if you fail to abide by the rules above your posts will be removed or your membership suspended. Why? I have better things to do than moving an deleting posts that are not fit for children!
If you want to post something and you are not sure which board it should go or if it is not suitable for children then contact me first!
In any case, if you doubt, then it most likely is not suitable.
To be more clear...
Jokes that have some kind of sexual induendo really do not belong here. There is enough of that on the net. This does not refer to jokes about men vs. women, etc, but this refers to describing body parts of each sex or talking about sex itself.
These topics are not children based topics. If you want to refer to a woman' upper body then use chest rather than breast, and other slang words, etc. There is no need really to describe any body part.
Jokes about Religion or Culture
I would ask that you please be mindful of people's feelings. What someone holds sacred or precious should not be made fun of... a joke is ONLY a joke if EVERYONE laughs, but if someone does not laugh at it then where is the joke? I for one do not condone religious based jokes for that reason unless they are really wholesome. Now 'wholesome' could mean various things to many people. So I will try to define a few things; If a joke covers persons, names, or titles that are considered sacred in a religious group then you may see making fun of it a form of disrespect for that group. An example of this might be making Rabbi jokes, would you tell that joke to the Rabbi's face? Would you feel comfortable using it as an opening line in the Synagogue if giving a speech? There are good religious jokes of course, if you feel they could have been shared in a religious setting too, then they are most likely good. I found that these jokes (the good religious ones are 'child-like'). Making fun of diety I think is far from funny, wether it be Allah, Heavenly Father, Vishnu, etc.
Board Changes
The Jokes Board has been cleaned up where a lot of unimportant posts that were sticky have been made common. Threads with games have been locked and the comments deleted. Only Upgraded members can post here, but all can read (See first message in this thread for details).
