Minister Goopeesingh is visibly frustrated by the lack of audits submitted by schools for the money allocated to them for school repairs. Maybe he is trying to shift a little blame since many schools were not ready for the school year.
Minister Tim Gopeesingh is laying down the law for subsidized schools (School boards) by saying that the Principal and teachers are not allowed to solicit students or parents for money. This in the wake of these schools complaining that they are not being funded properly by the Ministry of Education. Minister Goopeesingh is saying that Principals need to manage their allocated money better.
