Wearing crosses

Comments: I'm trying to be a good Catholic but I just do not want to wear a cross. My parents tell me I won't have the protection of the cross if I do not wear one but I do not believe its the cross that protects me its the angels. Am I being a bad catholic if I don't want to wear a cross?

For me crosses are very special and I know they protect me from whatever evil forces are out there why don't you want to wear one? They help you.
