God wants us to sin and repent to earn heaven.

As a Gnostic Christian it is my duty to show how Christian scripture should be interpreted to show how God can be logically found and understood.

Follow the logic.

All that God creates is perfect.
God created evil. Sins are evil. Sins and evil are perfect as all of God's works are.
All that is created was created by God and must be perfect.

It is God's will that all repent. To repent, one must sin.

If God's will is not to be thwarted, all must and will sin.

If you believe scripture then why did God bring Satan/Talking snake to Eden and allow a supernatural being access to Eve. Not a fair confrontation at all. Right?

Further, if God creates all things then He creates our souls and natures. They are sinning natures.
If God did not want sin then all He would have to do is create us with non sinning natures.
Right?

He does not.

Why not?

Because He wants us to sin.
Sin's value to God is to cause us to repent, so enjoy your sins and know that you will repent and be saved.

In this we have no free will. Hell is not an option since God's will is that all be saved and His will cannot be thwarted.

Ok so what's the point. I think everyone knows God says everyone needs to repent because the devil makes us sin.

The first point is that there is no devil or angels or talking snakes.
The second point is that there is no hell.
If all are saved then why need a hell.
The next point is to recognize that God does not need the carrot and stick mentality that humans like to use.

I think this is a wrong interpretation of the Scriptures. God has never commanded his children to sin (though there is ample evidence that God knows that men do sin). He has however commanded them to be perfect.

We are given free will to choose to draw closer to God or to reject him through sin. All men sin, and therefore without intercession, we would be eternally bared from the presence of God, as he is a perfect Being. But God sent his only begotten Son, to intercede. It is through Christ that we can be perfected as it is commanded in Matthew.

It is said in John

God's first desire for us is to remain sinless as advocated by John, but because God loves us, he has provided a way to overcome the sins that we do have.

This is a subtle argument of Satan. Satan says go ahead and sin, for you can always repent afterwards (eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you die). Satan wants us to Sin and think that sin is necessary for us to become good Christians. God wants us to refrain from sin, and repent if when we fall from the straight and narrow path.

God hates sin, would abolish it if he did not have a higher desire for us to have free will. God's work is to help us overcome sin, or more precisely for sin to be purged from us through Christ, based on our humble desire to become sinless. God wants us to draw closer to him and serve him with our last breath, relying on the saving power of Christ to overcome the world. God never intended for us to celebrate in our sins and glory in the sin that we do commit.

So I would change your initial statement from " God wants us to sin and repent to earn heaven" to

God wants us to become perfect, therefore he sent his Son to help us overcome our sins and return to him Sanctified. He want us to sin as little as we are able and when we do sin come to him in humility and seek forgiveness.

That is a scary warning, and pretty much negates the admonition to enjoy your sins.

I have no time for children who believe that Satan is real and the to follow the son of a genocidal maniac is a good thing to do.

To ride Jesus the scapegoat is immoral.

Do grow up some time and help carry the cross instead of sitting on it.

There was a good reason the god rejected the vicarious redemption of the archetypal Jesus. --Why have you forsaken me. I forsake you because what you do is place others in an immoral position.

Think about it just for a second. Would you advise your child to not step up to his responsibilities and hide behind a scapegoat?

It is a great honour to be called a child, thank you.

But quoting Scripture in a conversation with a Gnostic seems fruitless, as the Bible is authored by a "lesser evil God" as interpreted by the Gnostics.

Isn't your premise that we can sin without consequence, stating the same thing? I am having a hard time believing that you are Catholic (as it seems Gnosticism and Catholicism are entirely incompatible). Gnosticism on the other hand suites you well.

It is my understanding that Gnosticism holds that there are Greater and lesser Gods but no "Satan" persay (though there are Demonic entities called Archons). The God of the Old Testament is the baser, evil god, that has jealousies, and very human passions (mostly negative). Jesus was a spirit, never having a body. None of these seem like Catholic Doctrines.

After looking at every Gnostic Doctrine, I find myself at the exact opposite of almost every one of them. This makes it difficult to discuss particulars, and find common ground.

I suppose I am very unenlightened in your eyes. In truth I probably am, in the eternal scheme of things.

I would like to point something out. God gave us free will and will not take it back. To choose redemption is something few do which is why there's a hell. A Satan to govern it and drag others into that pit of hopelessness.
