None of the above! Sprays last only a few minutes; incense is too heavy and smoky, and the ashes are messy; candles have to be watched in case of fire or wax overflow.
I prefer solid air fresheners, like California Scents ®. They come in a tidy little tin container, with three small scented pads. You can leave them in the tin, or you can place each on a separate small dish and spread them out around the house. The scents are fresh, or tropical, floral, etc., and they last as long as 60 days. Very nice.
I love my home and cars to smell nice, so I have used all of these items. Incense makes places smoky so I have purchased incense but it is very rare for me to use it. Candles make rooms a little bit hotter, so living in Texas I don't use candles much unless we lose power in a storm or if it's Winter. Some sprays work like Ozium, which is mostly for large rooms and offices. It is very concentrated and has cleaning agents in it which actually kills smoke in mid air. Bath and Body Works has room sprays that smell great but do not last for very long. I use their room spray sometimes just to smell something different. Most of the time I use Bath and Body Works "Wallflowers" or I'll use an oil burner. The Wallflowers are only about $5. You plug one into an electrical outlet and the fragrance will travel through most of your home. Oil burners are pretty cheap and the oils you put in them are cheap as well. Only a few drops of oil will fill even a large room with the aroma.
