Why Follow The Prophet?

Why is it that we constantly hear follow the prophet follow the prophet (even in primary songs)but hardly follow Jesus Christ? The first one a man who receives inspiration from G-d but a man you know what am I saying? the second the only perfect man who ever lived on this earth who happens to be our savior. Whats wrong with this picture?
