I am moving up to Alaska for a while?....For work. I am married now and have been offered a good sum of money and deal to take care of my wife and the little one on the way. I will be doing construction and contract work for a well known company. I will be going from south of Fairbanks to Wasilla and was wondering if anybody was familiar, or was from these areas. I remember that a few were from that area / Alaska here on this forum. I would be accepting of an advise. What is the church like there? What are the good communities? I would like for my wife to be in a safe area...with a little culture. Her Niece is coming with (don't ask/may adopt). She is 7. Where are the good schools at?

I think Fairbanks is the best answer, but my wife does not want me gone for more than 3 days at a time. I have called up and they say it is "bigger" country than I can imagine. Is there a good place above Wasilla / town that has good schools and security? If you are not familiar with the place then fine. I appreciate your time.

A few years of work in Alaska will give us a leap on life so we have agreed that it is a must. Just don't want them isolated while I do what I got to. They want me and I have already received bonuses and signed contracts. To good for us to pass up.

Any info would be appreciated. I am asking everyone...they are just playing more hard than they are. I would like some truth.
