Thanks both of you for the birthday wishes. That cake is awesome, JB. The guy who works for me brought in a cake his girl friend made for my birthday. It was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. My favorite AND she made it from scratch. The only way I cook from scratch is when I get an itch while stirring something and I scratch it. That is scratch cooking as far as I am concerned.

My father called to wish me a happy birthday and woke me up. He didn't know I was taking the day off and wanted to catch me before I left for work. He rescued me from the weirdest dream. I dreamed I was looking for a bathroom because I needed to shave my legs. I had a bathing suit on and had gone down a water slide then remembered my legs were wicked hairy and needed to be shaved. Anyway, while looking for this bathroom to shave in, some kids in a wild pear tree started to throw pears at me. Edited: funbikerchick on 17th Jun, 2005 - 11:14am

Well, I am back from bike weekend. I had an awesome time even though a lot of it was in the rain. I have some really cools pictures to share too.

My face is a bit sunburned, but I really, really had a great time. Thanks for all the well wishes. Hope everyone here is well too.

Glad to hear you survived the trek! Last weekend seemed to be a big biker weekend all over. We live where a state highway goes through town, and we had a lot of bikers out on Saturday and Sunday. Very cool.

Well, I woke up this morning after not being at work Friday or Monday, all ready to go. I noticed while putting on my makeup, that my right eye was a bit swollen. The upper lid seemed puffy. Shrugged it off and went to work. Everyone there was commenting about my swollen eye. I really didn't think much of it until I went to the ladies room and saw that the entire eye area and the bridge of my nose were all quite swollen. Called the doctor, they said come in. By the time I got to the doctor the entire right side of my face was swollen. Mostly it is the eye and nose, but there is puffiness in the cheek as well.

So, either I have suffered an acute allergic reaction to something - likely a bug bike or, this is a result of hitting my head yesterday on the piano.

Can't find any indication of a bug bite anywhere though. So, if I have a black eye tomorrow it means this was a result of hitting my head. If not, then it was an allergic reaction to something.

Go figure. Anyway, now I am home another day because I need to apply cold compresses and that is not so easy to do from the office.
