Introduction Funbikerchick
Well, I finally had a chance to do my IronButt SaddleSore 1000 motorcycle ride. This is the ride where you have to do 1000 miles in 24 hours or less. I went from Sturbridge, MA, out route 90, up through Buffalo, NY and down through Erie, PA, and then crossed into Ohio, had lunch at Burger King, turned around and came back. Took 18.5 hours to complete.
The ride was awesome, but cold! It was in the 40's when we started out in the morning. I didn't take off my heavy gloves until noon! By the time we stopped the first time for gas, I was so cold I couldn't feel my fingers or toes. It got cold again around 10:00 p.m. If this ride had been done in August instead of the end of September, it would have been much more fun!
I popped aspirin at every gas stop and didn't really get too sore...just the darn cold! However, I sure did look awful. I think little children and old ladies were running for cover everytime I stopped at a rest stop on the highway to use the ladies room.

Rain, rain go away, and stay away! I live in Massachusetts. We had rain for 8 straight days! Then we had 3 days with no rain and it is supposed to rain again today through the weekend, although not all day rains like those 8 days were. I hope I don't end up with another flood in my basement. I managed to catch this one just before it reached the hot water heater. The entire basement was flooded, but it could have been worse. I didn't lose my home so I am still better off than those who have suffered from the hurricanes and or the flooding in NH from this 8 days of rain. There is a dam in a town not too far from me that is in real danger of collapse. The downtown area is closed and so are schools. Residents in the area have had to evacuate as well. At least there hasn't been any looting.

Work is incredibly busy and will stay that way until the end of the year. Several projects that were planned for this year haven't been finished and they must all be done before the year ends. One of them in particular is a very large project.
I will try to stay a bit more active on the forum. I miss you all when I am not here.
