Funbikerchick Introduction - Page 12

That's a cool calling, tena... I've always enjoyed having the elders over for dinner, they are so appreciative and I tried to make up interesting meals. Because I'm single but have my adult son living here, they could come and I tried to arrange at least once a month (and if my dear son happened to become involved in discussions so much the better smile.gif )

Our ward now has a married couple as missionaries, and they cook their own meals. I kind of miss having the elders over though.

Anyway, good for you!
Roz

Farseer, you can invite us over anytime, I would love to tast your 'hand'. wink.gif Also, you could still invite the couple... I am sure they welcome the break just as any other missionary would.

Nope, the "Missus" has been quite adamant that they both have special diets and allergies and insists that they will always feed themselves.... But she says they welcome invitations for after dinner "discussions" smile.gif

Oh well... we are not so fussy wink.gif but you know what... after I posted that message I was thinking just that... 'special diets and allergies and insists that they will always feed themselves'

Introduction Funbikerchick

Congratulations Tenaheff. My best friend has that calling. Sometimes it is really hard to fill all the days, but she somehow does it. She says she has better results with the inactives. They are more eager to feed the missionaries, and seldom if ever cancel on them.

It has been really hard for me to feed them, i.e. getting two then three sisters to come for dinner, then I had to have a priesthood holder there, until it dawned on me bulb.gif, invite a married couple. Like Duh!

Our missionaries are gone cry.gif Today we said goodbye to those wonderful young men. We now have a Senior Missionary Couple. They are from Oklahoma. Our Branch only needs to feed them on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Newport Ward is feeding them on Wednesdays and Fridays. I will be feeding them on the 22 or 23 whichever is a tuesday. I enjoy cooking for others. Love to see people eat and enjoy themselves.

Funbikerchick Introduction

How's this for a reason to rant!?! My boss came into my office yesterday afternoon at about 5:05, closed the door (because there we clients in the office across the hall and he was afraid I was going to start yelling), argue.gif put his feet up on my desk and asked me to prepare a 45 minute presentation for Monday at Noon (yesterday afternoon was Thursday). There is an administrative meeting for all attorneys in the firm and he needed a presentation. The person he thought was preparing one, didn't realize they were supposed to so he came to me last minute.

A 45 minute presentation on such short notice! I have no time this weekend available so, I will have to wing it to some extent. I am spending the entire day working on the power point slides. It is driving me nuts. I hate just sitting at a desk all day. I need to be up and walkng around. :computer:

In addition to preparing the presentation, I first have to decide what to discuss! All in one day. :help:

Why you didn't tell him how you feel about it? he cannot come with such a short notice and expect miracles *rolling eyes* I know is your boss but you said before he listens to what you have to say, I hope he can realize that what he asked its in the wrong time, therefore he cannot expect a great presentation.

I could have told him no, but then he would have been in a real bind. I figure this way I get to be the hero. wink.gif

He knows what a big deal this is, and how difficult what he has asked is for me to do. I think he will appreciate the presentation all that much more because he knows I did it to save his butt. smile.gif

He already told someone else how he "owes me big time."
