Almost every day I go to work there is something I can apply. I'm one of those people who believes that giving of yourself shouldn't just be an act of the holidays, but something done all year round. My fiance and I are planning on going up to the church next week and do some massive cleaning. So, that's something we're going to do to give something to our church.
Read your latest blog entry. So at least the movie part was good. My oldest is just old enough to take to movies. At five, with an auditory processing problem (most likely), he has a hard time following the story line. But Narnia sounds like a good start. If its any consolation, our kids associate going out with spending money too, and I am very stern. Its just that they usually get something special when we say we are 'going out', so when we don't, they just don't understand why not. Timeouts work for us to, to an extent.
First let me say congratulations on being a daddy, again!
I wish you all the best of luck over next two tri-mesters!
Second, our son developed proper speech late as well. He has auditory processing problems, which is not the same, but a hurdle none the less. It took him longer, much longer than most kids, but he has almost caught up with his speech. Given time, and nothing else wrong, I expect Felipe will catch up to his peers. Some kids are just late developers. My other two kids have developed much faster that the other kids their age, but my oldest is still a little behind. I think you are handling the problems very good considering. It took me time to learn to calm down and understand that this isn't a normal situation.
