I ponder Jb on Seth and your concern of his speech. I get a strong sense his lack of talk is like you stated a compensation for Filipe's over talkative nature. My oldest and second is very similar in that regard. We still struggle trying to break that shyness.

My cue that all was really OK was watching my youngest interact when the oldest was not nearby by and nor was his mother. He would then use short as possible sentences to get his message across. I am hoping you are seeing this with Seth.

I often joke god has a good sense of humor as he never puts two in the same house with the same personality just to ensure we learn how to deal with dislike people.


Some how getting him alone to do more reading and descriptive chatting about his day might help break those barriers down for you it help for us.

I have thought of that. Felipe does 'bully' him in talking and in activity to the point that Jonah just yells at him as his version to leave him alone. There is also a high percentage of siblings who have some sort of delay when their brother / sister is autistic. Jonah is still young, so we are hoping he catches up soon, nevertheless it does not make us any happier given the stress we already have with one special needs child.

I can appreciate that kind of stress. I recall the yelling or screaming tends to reduce around 7. We are still waiting for that also.

I'm hoping that by age three he can at least use a dew words to describe what he wants, screaming and pointing is just not adequate enough to know what he wants sometimes.

Stress, yes, that is something nice to eliminate, however given my circumstances it will last long after Jonah starts talking, Felipe likes to ensure that.
