The Redlands Temple is very small, only two ordinance rooms. So we have to make an appointment. Although now that I've seen how empty it is at 7 a.m., I'll be going a lot more. biggrin.gif

Introduction FarSeer

embarassed.gif I totally forgot the *small* temples. Oregon has one in Medford, but it is too far from here. I really enjoy going to the Portland Temple. We figure it is a full day excursion, and either do two to three sessions or 2-3 hours of inititories. Then stop at the Bookstore, some where for a meal and then head on home.

Someday, when I have a full time job and can afford it, I will go up with a small group of Sister's on Friday's after work. Share in the rental of a Hotel Room, and do one evening session, then go as soon as they open on Saturday and head home around 3pm. smile.gif They do this once a month.

Oh, my gosh! Thank you for those kind words, Ms. Tenaheff smile.gif You made my day!!!

AGene, that sounds like a fun "overnighter" with your friends doing temple work -- what a great way to fellowship and do the work smile.gif I'd love to have a group to do that with... Hmmm. Maybe I should start one? Great idea!

Introduction FarSeer

FarSeer congratulations on the new car. What did you get? Tell us all about it. I always think it is so exciting to get a new car. Is it brand new or new to you? Either is still way cool. I am assuming you got one good on gas?

FarSeer Introduction

Thanks, tena! It *is* exciting, isn't it?? I love a new vehicle, when anyone I know buys one smile.gif

Well, it's a "new to me" car -- a year 2000 Hyundai Sonata, with only 20,000 miles on it, can you believe it?? 4-door sedan, mid-size, V-6 engine. Silver with black pinstripes and gray interior, alloy wheels, 4-wheel disk brakes, side impact air bags, CD player AM/FM radio. It has what they call "European styling" so the lines are very classic, sleek. Very cool. And I just *feel* cool driving it smile.gif

Pic of Car (just imagine "Brilliant Silver)

And it's especially exciting because my old car was *really* old, a 1991 Ford Escort, and falling apart. I have put enough money into it over the past 4 years to have paid for half of the car I'm now buying. But when it happens one repair at a time, it's hard to know that it's going to drain your wallet for years to come.... There were many more repairs that would have had to be performed very soon. So, it was a question of, "Do I spend more money on this clunker in big chunks? Or do I spend more money in small-ish monthly amounts for something way more reliable?"

It was time -- and past time. But it was still scary to go down there and sign purchase/finance documents that commit me for 5 years -- eeeeeek!! I do plan to make larger payments than they have scheduled so that I can pay it off quicker (and pay less interest).
