FarSeer Introduction - Page 20

I just read your blog, sorry to hear about your sister and all the mess up the hospital did. I hope and pray that she may be always safe and that you and your family can always protect her, love her and do the best you all can. She's very blessed to have a wonderful sister who loves her dearly. Who knows, as you said, maybe God will want you to have her closer to you. I just want to say: All the best and keep the Faith! smile.gif

Introduction FarSeer

FarSeer, I, too, read your blog and am glad your sister is o.k. What doesn't make sense though is the part about a mass in her abdomen. If that was there, even if it wasn't the source of the pain, shouldn't it be investigated?

I am glad that the worse of it seems to have been a little lost sleep.

Thank you, my friends, for your concern about us smile.gif I appreciate that so much. I'm not sure about the "mass" -- I think maybe the nurse was just trying so hard to solve whatever sis was crying about that she "felt something". Whatever it was is gone, the dayshift charge nurse checked it out.

It would really be better to have sis closer to home. We are having trouble with transportation to and from the facility to get my sis to church and to "outings" (she loves to go "out"!). If she were here in the valley, there are several companies that would be able to help us out, and I could take her to my own church. That way, she could be involved more with people that we both know, and I could pester church leadership to make sure she has visitors and so forth biggrin.gif And I would be able to see more of her, because I now can only go on weekends because it's so far away. If she were in town, I could stop in at lunch time and after work, etc.

And, of course, in case of emergency, the hospital is very close to us. That would be a great convenience for all of us.

FarSeer, I have been watching the news lately and see that there are some serious wild fires burning in SoCal. Are you anywhere near them? I hope you and your family are all safe.

Introduction FarSeer

No we're not real close -- the closest was about 20 miles from here, but I think it's been contained. But close enough to have ashes dusting the cars in the morning -- that's kind of scary. Thank you for being concerned about us!

Yes, once again, it's fire season in SoCali... We're still collecting funds at church for the homes that burned last October in our area...

FarSeer Introduction

As an update -- we did get a big fire right here in the valley last week. Thursday we could see the smoke and flames from the office, and on my way home I was passed by 11 fire trucks -- about half from the state Forestry division, half from surrounding communities as far as 65 miles away. Somewhere around 1000 acres burned. They have it contained now, and no homes were destroyed, thank God.

I truly fear fire season in this part of the country.

FarSeer Introduction - Page 20

I'm glad you are safe ~ I think fire is one of my biggest fears too. Though I live in the mossy wet Pacific Northwest, I still fear it. We are having the driest summer in a long time here. Our fire watch went up the 3rd of July, nearly a month early.

FarSeer, I see that you are *irritated*, is everything really okay?? How are you coming along with your sinus infection? Have you ruled out the possibility that it might be allergies?

Take care and my prayers will be with you too.

AGene, you are sweet to ask... I'm doing okay -- the sinus infection seems to be gone. have not ruled out allergies, but have not really ruled them in, in the first place.

I'm irritated mainly because of long hours at work and other obligations that keep me from doing things I need to do... yard work, car maintenance, sewing, and what seems like a hundred other things I need to do, and I just don't have enough time. I spoke to my boss today about *time*... and how am I going to get a vacation if there is no one to cover for me while I'm gone? We discussed the option of my taking off just one day a week for a couple of months. This would serve two ways: I can get some rest and re-creation time, and the department is not left completely unstaffed for two whole weeks. While it's not my optimum choice, it's better than no time off at all -- which was his suggestion. haha Jokingly.. sort of. It's irritating. I know he appreciates the work I do, but he has no concept of what a working single mom has to deal with *outside of work.*

Anyway, enough ranting and raving and venting. Thank goodness I can stop in here for a few minutes a day and get some cheer smile.gif
