FarSeer Introduction - Page 21

FarSeer, while it sounds nice to work 4 day weeks for a few months, consider this: If you do, you will just need to work that much harder every time you come back to the office to make up for that one day off. Also, you don't really get the rest you need that way. I would find a way to take at least a week and then maybe a day per week for the other 5 weeks. They can hire a temp or you can just get caught up on your return. Yes, it would be very busy on your return, but at least you would have an entire week of downtime. It has been my experience in a field that tends to be a stressful one, that at least a week consecutive is required to adequately rest and relax. Just my two cents worth...

Introduction FarSeer

I appreciate your thoughts on that, tena, and I tend to agree with you. But the company will not hire a temp due to confidentiality issues. There are other accountants who can cover the daily bookkeeping issues, and I've been training one of the office girls to do payroll but neither of us is comfortable that she knows it well enough to do on her own (that's the biggest obstacle is weekly payroll for big clients). What I'm hoping to do is take the one day a week and see how it works out for a month or so. If I'm still feeling stressed, I'll ask for a week consecutive. There are certain weeks with only a couple of small clients due for payroll, and I could do most of the prep work before I left. It *can* be done, but the boss is balking... It's irritating to me that he thinks it's okay to understaff the office -- he's not directly affected by it, so why not? -- but doesn't take into account how it affects the remaining staffers.

Ah well... I can only do so much, and I keep telling him that. I can't do more than *one thing at a time...*

FarSeer Introduction

Actually, my friend, I was just thinking yesterday that the workload was lightening up a little bit, and I've been making good progress since finishing quarterly reports at the end of July. There is still a lot of work to be done, and it's still enough work for 2 full-time people, but I feel better about it the past week or so. And so perhaps it's time to "lighten" my mood wink.gif

Thank you for thinking of me smile.gif

QUOTE
Increase morning walk distance to 3 miles. This means getting up earlier, at 4:30 a.m.

I see you have that listed as a goal on the 'My Goals' page with '0%' accomplished. I guess the bed is too sweet eh? laugh.gif

Oy! I knew that would come back to bite me... Yes, it's hard to get up so early, especially when I already feel so dang tired all the time! I'm going back to the doc for a follow-up on the thyroid thingy next month. Maybe he can tell me if anything needs to be changed in the medication, etc.

Hey, at least I'm getting up for the usual walk at 5:30!
