A little reply here to some of what you said on your blog.
QUOTE
I figured we could have a great discussion -- she chastised me for exploring the mysteries, and told me to follow the prophet's admonition to leave the mysteries alone! I was shocked. I told her I could show her a dozen or more scriptures that say the mysteries are for us to discover, but she told me to follow the prophet and stay away from things that could make me apostatize.

This is exactly what I have had to deal with. It seems that anyone who attempts to learn, on their own, is considered apostate. Only the General Authorities are expected to know anything at all.

Joseph Smith was anxious that the members seek after the mysteries, and learn all that he had learned, as it is all important to us. But now, you had better not - you will be "zapped" if you do!

Keep up the good work. Searching to learn the mysteries, when done properly, is extremely rewarding.

Introduction FarSeer

Thank you, my friend. It has been rewarding, and I have not learned anything that would make me an apostate -- on the contrary, I've become a much stronger member and closer to the Lord than I've ever been in my life. I'm going to give her some reading references that might help her to, if nothing else, at least understand what I'm talking about as far as study is concerned. We'll see if that changes her attitude at all. Although, really, it may just be a waste of time. Very sad for me, because I feel like I've lost a good friend.

Farseer, I just read your blog and I agree 100% with what Nighthawk said. First of all, let me tell you I'm extremely happy to know you did not take on what your 'friend' said, I mean...the fact that it did not affect you to the point of wanting to stop learning the deeper doctrines but that you can see is a problem she has....(and let's face it, most sunday members). undecided.gif
You have to get used to that kind of comments, in the long road, you will see that more you want to try to share with others what you are learning, it is very likely they think you are doing something wrong...something...shady...something forbidden, to be quiet honest with you, I feel sometimes some members of the Church act like if they are in a 'sect' rather that a Church. It's scary, don't you think?.

She didn't take that very well. I always thought she was such a spiritual person, that she knew so much more than I did, and I really respected that.

You never finish knowing somebody, you always thought she was such a spiritual person but it seems she is having some deep issues that need to be resolved. But it is a great experience for you, to see that not everything that shines is gold. smile.gif

You are such a sweet sister who I love dearly and I know you have learned so much and your testimony have grown a lot....but you see, people cannot know that, and even though you may try to explain it to them, in the end you will see is like throwing pearls to the swines. I have been there, that's why I am suggesting you this wink.gif. I know it is not easy, I have felt so many times the need to share what I have learnt! but with who???....and I always ended up right here in the forum, sharing and learning from each one of you.

That is exactly how I feel! I'm so glad to have found the Forum, and that the members who've joined here are so knowledgable and open to discussion and learning. It's been a great opportunity for me.

Introduction FarSeer

After reading your blog entry for today, I started wondering if you have gotten to the point where antibiotics won't work for you anymore. If you have been using such large doses, perhaps your body isn't fighting the infections on its own.

I would drink lots of orange juice and tomato juice. Also use a lot of garlic tablets, along with echinacea. These all help boost the immune system.

Personally, I also find that a humidifier helps with sinus problems.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you, my friend. I'll be seeing an ENT soon, and hopefully will get some questions answered. Amazing how a few pockets of air in your head can cause so many problems...

I had the best time at the Single's Conference in St. George. I want so much to write about it in my blog or in the single section here, but I'm having trouble finding the time. I'll get to it, though, just gimme a couple days smile.gif What will probably happen is I'll write about the temple experiences in the LDS section, the activities in the Single section, personal musings in my blog, and specifically start threads about some of what I learned in other appropriate sections (like setting boundaries in all relationships, not just male/female). It was 5 days of really good stuff! Good thing I bought a book and took notes...

Farseer, I just read your blog and I was shocked!. It seems like we all have to prepare the red carpet and bow everytime we 'see' you since we are in presence of 'Royalty' now! laugh.gif
Wow, that's amazing!!! I'm so happy for you. You may even reach all up to Adam!!! that would me amazing. smile.gif
I recently found out something very interesting. My father's last name is Spanish (so I thought) researching about it I found it, it is jewish!!! laugh.gif yes, my maiden name is a very common jewish name. When the jewish were spread around and persecuted some went to Spain and were forced to change their last names and become christians, they called them 'marranos'. Interesting huh?
