Well, mine's pretty raspy first thing in the morning, actually, and I sing in a much lower octave or tone or whatever you call it.. (.. one of the consequences of years of smoking was it ruined any singing voice I might ever have had.)
And yes, LDS, it's my voice! What's really funny is meeting clients or other people, particularly men, with whom I've spoken on the phone. They are expecting someone completely different just from hearing my voice. Once, a gentleman who was delivering some paperwork to me after we spoke on the phone -- showed up with that "just shaved" kind of look and fresh cologne. Too bad he was 15 years younger than I was! Poor fella... what a shock!
