Well, here is my opinion -- and strictly my opinion. I believe that the doctor and/or hospital decided to let her die, and didn't bother to let us in on the secret. When I kicked up some dust, they said, "Oh, they want her to live? Okay, we'll get started...." For over a week, they have had a copy of her "Advance Directive" for medical care, which states very clearly that my sis wants to LIVE. So I don't understand why they may have just decided amongst themselves to determine her fate. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right, and I think they may have waited too long to take corrective action.
Yes, she's anemic, and has been chronically anemic for some time. She's been recieving iron supplements for a while. Now they say she is critically anemic. I haven't heard anything about her blood tests as far as comparisons between what they have been and what they are now, but I'll be going tomorrow with mom and will ask to see them.
I fear she will die. And not that that is necessarily bad, because it would be a release for her from her pain and suffering. But I don't think it would have happened at this point in time if the doctor and hospital staff had acted more aggressively in the beginning.
