I'm not surprised, but am very glad that you had a good experience in dressing your sister. Did you feel that your sister was there? Was she with you, helping cheer you up on your drive?

Well, truly I have admired your ability to juggle life as a whole, especially being on your own as it were, without the help of a companion to give the needed physical and emotional help that you may need. I guess you rely more on your holy companion in the Spirit, and in this there is much peace to be found. All the best to you in all your new found relationships, I hope they continue and even become a chance for annual reunions or genealogy research.

Nighthawk, we did feel as if sis was there with us during the dressing. There were a couple of difficult moments, and when my other sister asked Ju-Ju for help, a solution was immediately apparent to us. During the drive, I felt my scalp "prickle" a couple of times, and I'm sure she was there and appreciating some of our "black humor." It was awesome.

JB, I don't think I have felt the lack of a companion so keenly as I did these past few weeks. However, I have relied more on the Lord than I would have otherwise, do you see? It has strengthened my testimony of the knowledge that my Savior lives and loves me and knows me personally, and knows what I need and when I need it. What a great blessing to me, not just at this time but going forward.

Thank you very much I had to work, of course, and it's really busy and hectic right now. I didn't share with my co-workers that it was my birthday, because I didn't want them to make a fuss about it. But at home, my mother made a carrot cake from scratch -- delightful! -- and my family sang. It was very nice and quiet, and just what I needed.

And if I could upload some of that cake, you know I would!

Hey, I had someone I baptised in England send me a fruit cake through the mail some years ago, and it was delicious - so it can be done . However, I noticed your cake was not a fruit cake based on your reaction to it in the Christmas Board - looks like vegetable cake to me.
