Thanks, JB ~ Yes, you are my moving hero! How in the world you packed only three suitcases - that included your computers - is beyond me. However, since my new place is only 700 square feet, I'm learning to let go of some of my precious "stuff." After all, it's only material goods that can be replaced at a later time when there is room enough, and time and inclination, to use them. Perhaps someone else can benefit from what I can't use. And it's just pointless to pay for storage, when the value of what's being stored is really nothing!

So. Thank you for your good wishes. 11 more days. Begin countdown!

When you reach the stage that you can do it you will really know without any doubt that material possessions have absolutely no meaning. However, with that said, I would not wish it on anyone. As you give up your 'stuff' I am sure you will find yourself lighter and if you are anything like me - you will not even remember that it existed in the first place.

FarSeer Introduction

Hi Farseer, I was just reading your blog, and it sounds like a very exciting time for you right now!
I hope your move goes well, it will all be worth it when you are nicely settled into your new home.

It was really interesting to read about the tests that employers do these days, I have never heard of anything so strict! I suppose in this day and age though that they have to be covered as much as the potential employee.

I used to have a living room that was pretty similar sizing, book cases and shelving were a great solution, and looking at it from a different way, at least there is less cleaning to do too laugh.gif, now that has to be an advantage in my book!

Anyway, hope it all goes smoothly for you. Best wishes, Diane.

Thank you Diane smile.gif It's exciting and daunting at the same time. I'm not looking forward to all the work over the next few days. But we're mostly packed, just a few more boxes. Most of our furniture is going back to where we got it - the Salvation Army Thrift Store! All we're keeping are the beds and dressers, TVs and bookshelves. The rest is miscellaneous necessities like dishes and pots and pans and clothing. It's sad to part with my sewing machine and accessories and supplies, but I've not really had time to sew for quite some time and the cost to store it would be more than the replacement cost.

At any rate, we're as ready as we can get. Getting through until Sunday will be interesting. Thanks for the encouragement!
Roz

Just a quick note to post a link to my nephew's fundraiser website. He's taking on a 150 mile bike ride to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research. As you all know, my sis Ju-Ju died of MS, and Tedder is riding in her memory. He's awesome (and the guy on the left in the lower picture).

Here's the website if you would like to know more about it - or donate to the cause smile.gif https://www.ms150baytobay.com/tedrick
