Hi Roz, I just read your blog. Wow, it seems like your job is quiet stressful. I was shocked when I read that ten people are living in a one bedroom apartment, is madness! I mean, I feel sorry for the family and all but gosh, ten people is ridiculous. What the old man was trying to ask you was maybe if you have a problem with him and yet he says all the rest in another language

When I was living in Maryland and we were renting, we knew the laws were pretty strict with regards to how many people can live in an apartment and we had to call the police a couple of time for VERY noisy neighbors who were always partying and...well...you know, we could hear everything, it was disgusting!

FarSeer, sorry, but did you move into the ghetto or something? My empathy, I remember having a similar situation when we were in Maryland, in the end you have to just move out or they move out.

Yes, it's quite stressful sometimes, but not always. We seem to have cycles of problems. When I notice that it's been "quiet" for a few weeks, suddenly it's chaos again. This will all settle down... then maybe around the holidays things will go crazy again.

Anyway, thanks for your empathy. One day at a time, here.

Oh my gosh Roz! I just read your blog. Are you and your family okay? I'm so sorry to hear those news. It sounds terrible, how can someone be so evil to set a fire like that? It makes me sick, I hope they catch whoever did this.

I can imagine how your health can be affected by all that smoke! Please keep us update. God bless.

We're fine, no danger from the fire itself, just the smoke and ash. That is somewhat lighter today, but still makes for difficult breathing! The school cancelled it's carnival that was scheduled for today so that the kids won't have to be outside in the smoky air. My folks are talking about leaving town for a few days to get a way from the smoke - it seems to make mom feel nausated - because the fire is nowhere near contained yet. It's really a sad thing for those firefighters who were killed and their families. One man was 43 years old with five or six kids, two were 27, and one a 20-year-old youth. The last man alive from the group is only 23, and suffering from burns over 95% of his body and severe respiratory damage. It makes me ill to think that they were burned alive, with no chance to escape this terrible fire. It's all very sad.

FarSeer, do not be hard on yourself. It sounds like you are living in a circus of an apartment building, so every measure is important for your safety, BUT I do suggest at the first opportunity you move to a sane place otherwise you will end up being the permanent host of the circus. I am in similar circumstances now, but in my case I have given up as fighting against landlords who do not care is useless.

Don't feel bad. These people could have contact you and tell you about what was happening with the lady. It's not your fault. It sounds like a quite "interesting" job you have.
